Here are some Luggage Tips that might be helpful, useful and/or very important!

Your SUITCASE should measure no more than 54 inches (L+W+H) and weigh no more than 44 lbs. when packed. (Don't back your bag so full it weights 44# to start with!! That would leave no room for purchases. Most packing experts suggest 2/3 full.)

Your CARRY ON should be small enough to fit under the bus seat. Your carry-on should not weigh more than 11 lbs (packed) and measure no more than 39 inches (L+H+W). (FYI: I just flew back in from Boston this weekend and the Airlines are really looking at the size of all carry-on bags closely!! Steve)

Please check the TSA website for tips on packing “dos and don’ts”. www.tsa.gov

Remember the 311 rule: 3-1-1 for carry-ons= 3 ounce bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

Pack your travel journal in your carry on.

You might want to make sure your name address and phone number are in your suitcase in case it gets lost along the way, it might make it easier to get it back. ( We will give you a copy of your passport to put in it.)

Keep a list of the items that are in your suit case in your carryon just in case it gets lost. You might want to take a digital picture of your "stuff" laying out before you pack it.

Remember to put your luggage tag on your suitcase so we can find them easily on the luggage carousel. You can purchase brightly colored duck tape to mark your luggage also.

You can pack an extra bag in your checked bag but remember you will check that bag on the return flight, so make sure it has your name on it too. Depending on the rules at that time, it could cost you as much as $50 to check a 2nd bag. (Better to just pack light in the first place!)
